Last Rehearsal before school...

Monday we will have our last rehearsal before school starts. I need everyone there for this one. We will do final placement for all the formations. If you cannot be there we will have you flap off stage at some point before the end - just for the performance on Wednesday. Then we will adjust the formation for the actual show in regular rehearsals next week.

Meet Monday the 26th at HS at 9 am.
I would like everyone to wear black pants, and a tshirt. PUT THEM in your Backpacks today so you will have them on the first day of school! Don't forget to put your tap shoes in there too Tuesday night!

Week of Aug 19th --- last week of Summer!!!!!

Sorry this is being posted so late. Just got back in town. So this is the schedule for the week:

Aug 20th - Tuesday - 9-10:30 (NOTICE THE TIME!!!!)
Aug 22nd - Thursday - SAME
Aug 23rd - Friday - SAME
EVERY day at the HS!!!!!
EVERYONE needs to be at EVERY rehearsal this week. This is the last 3 rehearsals before the official Rehearsals beginning with you performing for the rest of the cast!

Those that cannot make these will perform for the cast the chair part, but will have to be off stage for the rest. But no worries you have until Harvest Break to have it cleaned up and looking perfect! (Notice I did not say November - you have 2 other hard dances to learn and we will only be spending time to run through this one and clean up after the school year starts.)

Please check in with other tappers Monday to make sure they have checked the blog!

Tuesday - they are having police drills at the HS - So Ty and Shay meet at the Burton Church again!
                  Ty and Shay only - 9 - 10 am. (No review this day for other tappers)

Wednesday - 9-10 am HS with Ty and Shay.

I am going to have the girls that missed and are behind come Monday the 5th at 8:30 am (please check back on Sunday night to double check this since I am waiting to hear from Mr Hibbard to confirm time.)


Monday 5th - 8:30 am to review - if you have learned the dance so far but you want to come and go slow over the steps you may --- TY you need to be here because there is a section you will be dancing with all the girls that we have learned.

Next Week's Schedule

The Stage is being painted next week - and the Little Theatre has been waxed - so both are off limits for tapping.  I am working on being able to use my Church's stage.  So for no, let's plan on Monday and Wednesday Morning 9 am @ the Burton Church.

Directions:
You can go like you are driving into the HS - but then turn South (which would be Left) at the corner where Rexburg Motorsports is - then you drive down to the first road on the Right - this should be Pole Line Road. Turn Right and go to 4000 West the Church will be right there.

Alternate directions:  go down Main Street out West - it turns into HWY 33. Drive until you come to 4000 West turn LEFT. Drive down 2 full blocks (you will pas the old Burton Elementary school) and the Church will be on the left side of the road.

Sorry for the confusion.

Okay there seems to be some confusion. We will be meeting Mondays and Wednesdays - 9 am @ the HS unless I state otherwise.  Double check the dates listed in the first post.

Tap shoes - mary jane style or character style will work! As long as they have a strap - no shoe strings.

Okay ladies - I still prefer the character shoe with taps --- but the mary jane style with a strap will look fine from the front too. I just do not want you spending a ton of money on these tap shoes that you may not use again soon. Below are a few links I found on Ebay that would work.  Just make sure whatever shoes you order you know if the they have the taps on or not yet.

Okay All - Here We Go!

First tap shoes - if you already have some great! If not please buy tap shoes that look like character shoes with a heel.  I suggest going to EBAY or craigslist to find them. No need to spend lots and lots of money on them.

The first week (next week) we will meet for one hour each day to learn some basics. Just a heads up Clogging is a little different from Tap.  So even if you have clogged you need to come next week to learn some basics please.

We will then go over the schedule from there and what the need is.

Please be at the HS come through the back doors @ 8:45 am - 10 am. This will give us a full hour of dancing. ;)

If you do not have tap shoes on Monday, come any way please.
